5If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. NKJV
How believers can receive wisdom?
I. Asking God
a. Who is this God that you are asking?
b. To ask somebody God gives liberally
c. God gives without reproach
II. Asking God in Faith
a. How do we ask in Faith
b. Definition of Faith: Faith is more than believing. But the bible says that faith cometh by hearing and hearing of the word of God. 1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. 3By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. Heb. 11:1-3 NKJ
III. Asking God without a doubt
a. The picture of a doubting believers: A Wave tossed to and fro
b. If you are double minded person, you are unstable in all your ways.
c. Doubt blocks the blessing of wisdom from the Lord
